Always There
When I’m fatigued or in sorrow,
You draw me near without hesitation,
No judgement or a smile borrowed,
Just pure honesty and appreciation
Of what I have accomplished and attained,
My failures and faults,
For which I feel the blame,
You claim the key to these vaults
Nevertheless you pick me off the floor,
And whisper your teachings,
Give me the key to unlock the door,
To a world with new thoughts and meaning
So that I shall never be afraid,
And will ask for the help that I need,
To believe in your wisdom and pray,
As I follow in love and not in greed
And ready myself for the dangers ahead,
My fears and dreams alike,
Your presence there and all you’ve said,
To guide me in light and not dread
