Summer to me is the great blue sky
without a cloud to be seen and the sun in your eyes,
summer to me is singing aloud,
spilling your heart and enjoying the sound;
the maple tree and the wind in its leaves,
and flying upside down over the trampoline;
barefoot and wandering, thinking a poem,
and the sun goes down as you’re headed for home.

Summer to me is the stars above,
laughing out loud and thinking of love;
summer to me is dancing in the dark
and knowing you’ve discovered your own inner spark;
the radio up and the windows down
talking about when we’ll leave this town
staying out late and the streetlights on
and you hope this summer won’t ever be gone.

Summer to me is your feet in the stream
staring up at the sky and telling your dream,
washing the car on a Saturday night,
the whole street bathed in the sunset light.
summer to me is the great blue sky,
and no one underneath it but you and I.

This is such a great poem! You're so talented. I love the imagery.

If you cannot form an opinion yet, be quiet until you can! Teasing.

I'm allowed an opinion! Though I cannot form one until I have read some of Rachel's work....so blah!
