OLD HALLOWEEN
candy apples, trick or treat,
The pitter patter of little feet,
this Halloween,
This Halloween
they shall see no more.
Ghastly ghouls, painted faces,
children of all genders and races,
This Halloween
this Halloween,
They shall see no more.
haunted houses, screams in the dark,
Mangled fences, peeling bark,
this halloween
This halloween
They shall see no more.
cemetaries, headstones inscribed.
Mortuaries, holding breath passing by
this halloween,
This halloween,
they shall see no more.
Graying hair, wrinkled faces
trinkets from many a childhood sold.
Our parents are watching us grow over time
And thinking, "damn, I'm old!"
