Blunt Truth
Little girls with hopes so high,
Hoping one day to touch the sky.
To fill their hearts with lots of laughter,
Sadness is one thing not to go after.
Blocked from heartache and suffering pain,
Just wanting to be happy, who’s to blame?
Landing on the first kiss that comes her way,
Now without choice, she must stay.
Raising her hands up, she lets out a sigh.
Love can make you ask the question, “Why?”
And leave you wondering...Where did they go?
Those innocent hearts weren’t meant to be shattered so.
And the time comes when she says goodbye,
To the little girls with hopes so high.
