This is Me
A little girl in her Mickey Mouse dress
Hops off the school bus in front of her house
Brunette ringlets bounce as she runs
The smile on her face says it all
It’s Friday afternoon and time to have fun
Soon the school bus is traded for keys
She rides around town with the music cranked loud
Just as happy as she can be
With summer here
And not a care in the world
Her friends are all she needs
It’s time to have fun and not dwell on the past,
Let’s look forward, move on, and see what the future holds
Graduation is nearing,
And sometimes she’s fearing
Where her future will lead
The woman she’s become is ready to move one
But the little girl, still inside of her, will never be ready to leave.
