I Crumbled the White Sand

I crumbled the white sand as I slouched along the shore
With the doleful wind and waves of a wailing sea
I had relinquished the gusto and happiness I once bore
When moments of joy turned into a painful memory

The chirping of the birds was a solace to my heart
Pessimistic that bliss would fly back to me
My despair and distress that had torn me apart
And surreptitiously took away my assuaging harmony

The affection I felt when you were there by my side
I never thought that time would elapse that fast
The glee of having you seemed like a relishing pride
I never knew that your life would soon be a reminiscence of past

I tried to evade the thought of your departure
But it kept haunting me again and again
My tears and soaked eyes were a simple gesture,
That nonentity, but you can lessen my pain

I crumbled the white sand as I slouched along the shore
With the doleful wind and waves of a wailing sea
I have forgotten the zeal and zest I once bore
And, yet, I haven’t learned to live without thee
