Reaching For The Moon

Much like the Moon, you bring peace to my soul,a flower mid-bloom.
And your just beyond my reach, as August is to June.
We were a funny couple, the Gorilla and the Baboon.
I see the end, and it’s coming much too soon.
It’s coming too fast, the imminent ever-dismal doom.
So for you I’ll wait, on my mountain of lonely gloom.
