You Shook Me to My Core
Your lightless, sunken eyes are never set on me.
Words tumble from my limp lips, lost.
Attempts to engage you are received horribly;
You lie flippant, cold and uninvolved.
The pain that sleeps between us cannot be absolved.
Poppy blossom hearts have withered.
Though it was once you around which my world revolved,
There is no love behind these tears.
This full moon in my window has been here for years.
It waltzes on and on, madly.
Holographic smiles lack the depth that appears.
I am silent in my bell jar.
Sunrise returns to me now, yet it seems so far.
Turn away, I have left this place.
We may meet again, in a place much more bizarre.
This world is not mine anymore.
(You shook me to my core.)
