My skin separates leaving a sea of

blood, flowing down my left arm.

I smile 'cause i know I'm alive.

I have got yet through another day

of this. . .

My mind wanders to a blank,

leaving my eyes to draw back.

My breath shortens to a gasp.

I'm ready for my second cut.

Tears roll down my cheeks.

I feel relieved once again,

marking yesterday's spot. . .

"I smile 'cause I know I'm alive"

This is the most powerful line, I think. I took a survey on some self-harm website, and when the question asked how it makes you feel or something, that was my answer: alive. Don't stop writing.
