I finally did what most
Girls have done before
Picked the petals off a rose
Watched them fall to the floor
But the difference is
This time around
I prayed they’d end on love me not
Before they all hit the ground

The author's comments:
This actually did happen... I was cleaning at work, and someone left a rose in a room. It was wilted and dying, but I took it to the trash can, picked the petals off one by one, and when it ended on "He loves me not," I smiled and walked away.
