Counting Her Wishes
Those five minutes.
Neither night, or day.
As the sky is dark turquoise;
Not black,
but not bright.
The horizon seeming purple.
After those five minutes,
All is dark.
A heavenly body,
Appearing.
The man on the moon,
Gaping.
Given more time,
Stars are shown.
Every imperfect sparkle dotting the sky.
And the desperate girl pulling out grass,
Counting the stars and her wishes.
