Seconds go by,
As my pillow
captures my dreams.
Soon I will awaken.
In the moments after my eyes flutter open,
All will be forgotten.
But after a twinkling eyeblink,
Memories flood my mind.
That moment of forgetfulness,
Of carefree slumber.
I'll sleep forever,
If I could imagine it de novo.
