Someone's Guaranteed Tomorrow
They wake up each day ungrateful
As their sun rises ever faithful
While every morning we’re awoken
By our sun so cold and broken
Knowing they are hateful
But our suffering’s unspoken
I wish I could smile like they smile
Laugh and dance and stay for a while
But my smile’s lost, my hands are worn
And my heart is as heavy as it is torn
But we still stand proud and in single file
Our futures less bright with each child born
Filled with ambitions and glory
They think they’re the only
Ones who are worthy
Of a legacy, a story
Filled with despair and sorrow
We know our faith is hollow
Only wishing we could borrow
Someone’s guaranteed tomorrow
