The Endless Day
A hesitant and dreary voice answered my call
He was unsure, unable to tell me where my friend was
He had been missing since the deep night
Nerve wracking. Heart Pounding. Afraid.
The phone calls continued, the scare grew
An eleven hour day suddenly turned into eleven years
Eleven years of sorrow, hunger and hope
But the day continued, and belief grew,
That in the end, all would turn out OK
The answer arrived after hours of anticipation
The clashing of two evils had exerted great pain
Bad news. Hospital. Critical condition.
Where to go? Who to look to? Where to seek for answers?
All we must do is hope. For the best. In the end.
All embraced hope.
