Storms
staring out a window, watching
as black clouds come rolling in
creeping slowly, waiting to make their move
as soon as the rain falls, like bullets upon metal
startled bodies dart, heading for cover
they hide under shields, and retreat to their keeps
the world seems empty, abandoned, asleep
the storm has won, or so it thinks
but i emerge, arms open, chin high
soaked to the bone, grinning towards the sky
i stand alone and defeat the mighty threat
