Step, Step, Off

A little bit off kilter
A little bit off beat
A little bit unsteady
Up on my weary feet

A little bit too tired
A little bit too weak
A little too uncertain
Yet still I search and seek.

Days go by
And then the fear
When weeks morph quickly
Into years.

But there! Ahead!
Oh can’t you see –
Promises of peace within
That hand held out to me?

Then stumbling forward, running fast
And desperate hands
Draw up to find!
…mirages in the desert sand.

Step,

Step,

Step.
The road keeps leading on
Step,

Step,

Step.
The breaths beside me gone.

Oh, I’m a little bit off kilter
I’m a little bit off beat
I’m a little bit unsteady
Up on my weary feet.

Very cool poem, to be honest I normally don't compliment other peoples work, but I really like your style

With all honesty this is one of the best poems I've read in a long time. Well done!
