Pose like a backdoor hooker
High on the mainstream business.
Now go through that door,
Through the kitchen,
Up past the customers
And out the front door.
I’ll be waiting by a payphone
(Remember those? The tragedy of
Technology left them lifeless.);
Give me 25 cents and I’ll make a call.
We’ll catch the first train to
Nowhere,
And in the light of one thousand
Shifting eyes and dozens of flashing
Lights, we’ll accidentally and indirectly
Perpetuate the old tale that
Life is too short to
Make mistakes.
