Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
what do you see that I can not?
It is those words that haunt the heart,
or those brittle intentions of a besotted kiss?
Can you foresee the aim of ones cruel notes,
or those imprudent gestures?
I can not see beyond your glass,
for it only reflects that which I wish to see.
So can you tell me the ambition a rabbit,
how it gets through its day
with hunters and foxes prowling for their prey?
How a mouse is brave and swell,
sneaking inside a larger creature’s home?
Tell me mirror, mirror on the wall,
what do you see that I can not?
