Sonnet – “The River Calls”
The river ahead calls my name,
It is drawing me to its depths.
My mind has taken solid aim,
I will soon enter at the steps.
The Steps, (Oh!) steps, that lead the way,
What strange mysteries will I find?
There was never a better day,
For me to slowly lose my mind.
The world around me flashes black,
And red, and blue, and purple-green.
I will never dare to look back,
At all the things that I have seen.
I lock those old times far away,
And am off to enjoy the day.
