Heart of Gold
As I sat gingerly on the back of this beauty, the world
continued to spin and yet we were at a standstill.
People running to and fro, ribbons distributed and tears shed. And yet here we were, so still. We trotted into the ring, and turned to the left. A circle, one perfect circle and his feet began to move 1-2-3,1-2-3.
Towards the first jump, there was no going back. He was my angel, and he was going to help me fly today.
We approached the jump together, a most dexterous team. One moment to wonder, one moment to think and we were flying just high enough to wish upon a star.
No time to waste, we are moving again. 1-2-3, 1-2-3. The delicate sound of your hooves on the ground, your mane so soft, as bright as a golden star.
You are my angel and as we take to that final jump, I no longer need to look. You are ready, eager to see where we will end up next.
We will fly today my dear, My Buddy, with a Heart of Gold.
