At the edge of a cliff
And so she stood
Alone and cold
No longer so bold
Her head lowered down
Her hands hung to the ground
She looked over her shoulder
Hoping to see yet never wanting to see
And so she stood
Alone and cold
No longer so bold
The wind whispered down
Slit between the trees
Grey upon the clouds
She looked over her shoulder
Hoping to see
Yet never wanting to see
And so she stood
Alone and cold
No longer so bold
She moved her feet
And wrapped her arms around her own
She felt the chill
Gripping her bones
She looked over her shoulder
Hoping to see
Yet never wanting to see
And so she stood
Alone and cold
No longer so bold
The water moved so silently
So far down below
Her eyes peered over
She looked over her shoulder hoping to see
Yet never wanting to see
And so she stood
Alone and cold
No longer so bold
She looked back down
At the serenity of the gray water
And watched as it came closer
Consuming her whole
And so she stood
Alone and cold
No longer so bold
And for one final time
She looked over her shoulder
Hoping to see
Yet never wanting to see
And there he stood
Alone and cold
No longer so bold
Her lungs filled with water
Her heart filled full.
