At Last
Standing in the frigid night air, I rest my head on your shoulder, burying myself in your warmth
I’ve dreamt of this moment every waking hour, every sleepless night
Standing with you, able to call you my own
I feel a raindrop on my face, and I realize that you are crying
I stare into your beautiful brown eyes, but all I see is my darkened bedroom wall
I lift my finger to my face, and feel a tear trickle down.
