Irreparable
[Author’s note: Some relationships just are.]
I tried but I failed
- Or did I try at all?
The heart for healing so wailed
That the Unrepaired stood tall.
I heard the thought angels urge –
“Go on, go on, rebuild, rebuild”
But hums on in the other ear the dirge
Into silence hope is distilled.
I let the days and chances roll
I let the distance rest snug – leave it won’t
I let slow decadence wreak its toll
And I don’t give a damn – I don’t.
