A Spring Breeze
A reddened rose, its beauty borne
inside the breeze on Monday morn',
filtered through a maze of bristling trees,
the radiant petals so pure unfreeze
the hearts and minds of the forlorn.
And they, wrestling with their bags and sacks,
so strapped and coupled to their backs,
found their efforts deftly redoubled.
Their repressed hope profoundly bubbled
up from the weight pushing them down, somehow, intact.
