Darkness Stays
I’ve walked in darkness forever
The light never came
Somehow the silence stayed
You changed my life
But it’s too late
For those words to be said.
I never meant to let you go
All those happy moments
Have disintegrated into painful sorrow
Within my closing heart
You chose your way and I chose mine
The distance will always separate
And I wonder if it will ever change.
Can you forgive my stupidity?
No longer can I speak
No longer can I think
No longer can I see again
The ugly hand of darkness lingers.
