So-Called Friends

You watch your "friends" from afar
And know that you are not welcome
in their circle, in their group
You were welcomed once
but now are banned
You are shunned and ignored
By the ignorant band
of your former friends
Can't they see?
How much you just want to fit in?
You want to be liked.
Loved even.
You want to be able to speak freely,
without being judged.
You know you may not get
all of these things
But at the very least...
I just want to have friends.
