is the reading of the bible

But I say faith
is something much different

is being the first
to say "I love you"
not waiting to hear
the words echo back

I say faith
is trusting yourself
even when the words
your soul speaks
seem volatile

I say faith
is letting go
of something you love
knowing it will only
find its way
back to you

I say faith
is opening up
even after
you've been stabbed and harmed
a million times before

I say faith
is
loving
trusting
surrendering
