The Horror
There was an unexpected program before my eyes
Of what is done so we can eat.
What I saw made me never want to eat another piece of meat.
Those steer were killed in a way that’s supposed to be humane.
But all I saw was another animal being slaughtered in vain.
I’m ashamed.
The bodies were cut open,
Blood poured out.
What I saw made me want to scream and shout.
Organs were everywhere.
They were no longer cattle.
They were innocent lives that I refuse to poke with a fork now.
I only eat it when I have to.
If you haven’t seen what’s done I feel sorry for you.
There’s no such thing as humane anymore.
There was an unexpected program before my eyes
Of what is done so we can eat.
What I saw made me never want to eat another piece of meat.
