How I Would Have Preferred
March 31, 2008
ripples like waves of skin over your spinal cord
crest and adjourn with a lean or push of distant lunacy
until calm goes the wild sea
the moon slides like a child or comet
down into the soft of a blanket fold horizon
waters shelter; living sleeping sinking
seesawing our chests of swimming salty breaths, night's serenity
closing warm whale eyes filled with tide pools of pacific skies and dreams
sailing into infinity
