The Promise
Yellow flowers, silky ponds
Weeping willows shedding tears
Baby ferns shyly unveil their fronds
As the sun evaporates all fears
The bluebird's song is almost as soft
As the gentle kiss of a breeze
Caressing the wispy clouds aloft
And causing choppy waves on open seas
Life is full of anger and trials
As well as peace, joy, and hope
Weary feet may have to walk slowly for miles
Before reaching the welcome green of a valley slope
Who knows what the future will bring
Today or tomorrow may mark a beginning, or an end
Staying strong and keeping faith, let your spirit sing
And lay your pain with the Lord to help your wounds to mend
