new life

when i close a door
a new one opens
my past slowly leaving my head like water in old cupped hands
a life of great happiness awaits me
cheerfull warm sun
not
gloomy tearfull cold clouds
hang over head
this new door
is not as
broken with hate
worn with tears
or
painted over many times in hope of a better life
my memories dripping from my head like water in cupped hands
am i glad to see them go
i will never know
my open door awaits me
