The Sky was Dark
The sky was dark,
the roads were icy,
the cars slid,
the sirens went off,
people rushed over,
they took him away,
the stitches saved the bleeding,
new blood gave his life away,
he explained he would be alright,
he said good-bye,thank you and goodnight,
he went home and recovered,
without the slightest care,
knowing he was lucky to still be there,
the sky was dark,
the air was cold,
the cars slid,
he continued to bleed.
my father grew up,
and married my mother,
they were in love and made my brother,
the sky was dark,
the air was cold,
the cars slid,
he continued to bleed.
slowly his liver began to reject,
who would thought what was soon to come next,
the yellow eyes and yellow skin,
doctors quickly had to begin
drugs and pills,
tests and shots,
expensive bills,
we had to get through,
the sky was dark,
the air was cold,
the cars slid,
he continued to bleed.
the sky was dark,
the air was cold,
the cars slid,
nobody lived.
