Out of Me
Teeming, unseeingly in the full moon light
When is it? What is it? Where is my sight?
With eyes that are closed I feel the world,
Not through my flesh but through a spirit unfurled.
If only I remember how to reach this state,
From the mind to the body as the soul separates.
I look at the world of this night, it is clear
Shadows are darker they bring greater fear.
The stars they are brighter they leave me amazed
So I look deeper above my own stare set ablaze.
The falling sensation takes control of me
Drawing me back to a place I don’t want to be
Back to my body, back to my mind
Even temporary freedom is so hard to find
