Filled
When I was younger
I hoped you’d remember me
And stop to say hi
You never did
So eventually I grew up
And kissed you good-bye
Looking back why did I hope
You’d remember me
And show?
You never came
To visit or watch me
Grow
Of course I heard of everything you did
But other than that
I never thought of you at all
For the days I’d hope you’d remember are gone
And in my mind, from your cracked pedestal,
You are about to fall
Of course, I love you
Distantly
But still
That one space that was for you
Was empty too long and
By another got filled
Now there’s no room
For you
Not that you care
But it’s alright
Because now I know
You never would have been there
