Go Back
I want to go back to the good old days
When nothing else mattered except power rangers and ninja turtles
When being grown up was just a game.
Responsibility meant tying my own shoe laces,
And taking off my training wheels
I want to go back to those days,
Back when play dates and sleepovers were okay
The only problem with boys and girls were cooties
Our days consisted of naptime and playtime
Coloring in the lines was the biggest problem
I want to go back to when I believed in super heroes and imaginary friends.
I want to go back to when I thought anything was possible
Back to the days when mom could control the weather
And daddy’s little girl never made mistakes
I want to go back to when magic carpets could fly
And the only questions asked were how come and why
I want to go back to those days of hide and go seek
When while counting to ten we found it hard no to peek
Oh what I wouldn’t give to be that kid again
