Ode to Fate
The pressure of choice, a mere illusion,
The idea of self control, an utter delusion.
Mortal power, the biggest of lies,
Scientific method, logic, denied.
Human kind and all of it's flaws,
Prophesied to doom, by natural law.
The human mind, and all of it's tricks,
Can never change it's path on the River Styx.
History predestined, Future certain,
Mortal decision, hidden behind the Seer's curtain.
All of time holds no mystery,
only a present state of human misery.
This is not a force that we can command,
Oh, no, not even by strength of demand.
This thing, called Fate, over which we hold no sway,
It permeates our lives in limitless ways.
