Whispers
The gentle voice whispers in my ear,
Telling me all it’s seen.
The blue sky,
The fresh grass,
And a world
With happiness and pain.
I hold all that it tells me
Close to my heart,
And I remember the voice
As I walk through the hallways.
The carefree and the overshadowed
At every corner.
The fake smiles and the real smiles
Shine before my eyes.
“How can there be so much happiness,
And yet so much sadness, in this world?”
The wind whispers in my ear,
As it floats past me to see more
Of this world,
More than this half-empty, half-filled hallway.
