She thought it was love
Something sent from above
She thought it would last forever
If only she’d been more cleaver
Maybe it wouldn’t hurt so much
Maybe she’d be okay
All she needed was a crutch
Maybe she’d be here today
All she wanted was the best for him
Now she wonders what could’ve been
“As long as you’re happy” she once said
But he didn’t know the tears she shed
Now she thinks she should’ve said more
She should’ve stopped him
And now her heart beats, oh so sore
Cause she knows what should’ve been
