My Heart
Wonder how to know,
When and where to go,
Find out how to stow,
My heart in the snow.
Where it could remain,
In time and in name,
Free from all Life’s pain,
Never to be tame.
If there is does stay,
Twill become someday,
A home for blue jays,
And squirrels, red and gray.
My heart all could see,
As a willow tree,
Wild, happy, and free,
Far away from me.
Whereas I could leave,
Find where none believe:
There is need to grieve,
Be dull or deceive.
A place where all are,
Quite sweet but as far,
As the distant stars.
Where Time would heal scars.
When I’m whole again,
I’ll let you know then.
And we’ll put back in,
My heart, my best friend.
If you want me to,
I could stay with you.
I would be like new,
Freshly made and true.
We’d be perfect, then,
Together again.
I’d put you back in
My heart, forever.
