Time
Wandering, lost, and slipping away
Despite the fact that I beg you to stay
I fear you’ve gone, left me for good
But why that is, I never understood
You sway always to the same beat
A pendulum, forth and back with sweet
Rhythm and sorrow, and to reflect
On what you have to offer is to respect
What it is that you take away
For time, my friend, is precious and dear
And is never distant, always traveling, clear
Its destination will never be known,
But the beat it follows resembles your own
