Your Past is Your Present State of Mind
In my now permanent daze,
I once again lay awake,
Wishing she were merely a phase,
My eyes shimmering as if a lake.
Separation causes pain,
Union but a tease,
Bringing devastation and rain,
My heart frozen by an icy breeze.
Claiming to be a new man,
Attempting to stitch the rear seams,
Unmistakably a horrid plan,
Forever will she be in my dreams.
Never shall she be mine,
This void may stir,
Until the end of my time,
For noone will ever be her.
