Highway 95
The night plays tricks with you as you drive
Dark expanses of woods on either side of the lonely highway
They are all silently screaming at you
You think of lost lovers
Of murderers that never get caught
You think of how many hearts you’ve broken before him
You think of the night sky
You never get to see it in the city
You don’t belong here and you know it
You think of all the passing cars
Each filled with someone with a destination
Or are they all like you?
Are they all driving through the middle of the night?
Unknown to the rest of the world.
Are they also playing games with the night?
