Guidance Appointment
Sitting in my designated chair
I watch your eyes
Dart from mine to the door
You ask
meaningless
questions
But I sense
their
underlying meaning
You observe me
Fidgeting
Unaware that I know what you think
I don't
I smile as you lie
Through your teeth
Nod while you are
assuming my ignorance
Until the tension builds
and I finally crack
Feeling much like a crumpled piece of paper
Tossed carelessly
into the trash
