Terms in December
Of these many terms in December,
Where all the girls are in distress
and the boys are stressed
For words and numbers
and dates with memorization
Come to take our time,
Dull our pencils, empty our pens,
and chain our minds--
We struggle up a hill of muddy paper
and black ink towards the sky
The blue sky that promises freedom
A flase freedom of temporary relief
A freedom desired, uncherished
That only leads to more paper stress
That we idiotically and gladly
Welcome as our one and only fate.
