Happy Birthday
There comes a day one a year,
A day when you, true friend, dear
Turn over a new leaf, and new page
In your book spanning many an age
A fresh start where you can close the books of yonder
A fresh start when you can discount old balances o’ ponder
Where the only thing that you carry forward is
The smiles of the friend who presents this
Here dear friend we see a time ahead so fresh
Together we shall adjust any books of old; regress
Those feels’ of angst and fear
Those of losing everyone dear
For your dear and dearest are called for
They are with you; or
Whence why would they even dream so?
Wash they would away, like a water over shore
One among that lot I do stay here
To wish you once again, a fruitful year, dear
A year fresher and better, with no fear
A year, pray I your face embrace not a tear.
