R.E.F.U.G.E
Came here to escape poverty
They took our land and claimed it their own
So we fought
Ended up called The Forty Year War
Missing out on childhood
Serving the country came first
Your family that you missed out on were dying of thirst
Your brother was forced to go to war and he didn't make it like you
Hearing about your mother crying at the annoucement saying he got hit too.
And here you are wishing you were never in your shoes
They say Education is the key to Success...that excluded you.
Just because you grew up poor doesn't make you any different from high class
Will I escape?, how long is this going to last, you always ask
So you end up going to a refuge camp
Running away to a land called America
Where they say dreams come true
But the "real dream" is on you
