Romans 3:25
Her lips dripped with words unsaid
As she pressed them to the night
Blistering truths within my head
Saying to kiss her one last time
Retracing fathoms
Like lost footsteps
Our memories fade
Just like all the rest
Recounting lost convictions
Vexing convicting plea
For the hope of my addiction
Are the things I cannot be
She opens her arms
To the night
To embrace the dark
And forget the light
Running, she cannot run any more
For her hopes reach her grasp
She doesn't know what she is reaching for
So she grips on to the past
Begging only to let go
Falling fast to her knees
For what goes to show
Is that truth is make believe
