Time
The world incessantly spins
Turning time round and round
Keeps our lives moving
And never utters a sound.
We shuffle from place to place
As the glacier of day melts
Slowly dripping, slowly ticking
Time is encased by our belt.
A pebble has replaced the rock
That was once called the sun
Numbers, arrows, perfect circles
Have battled nature and won.
How can something so new
Make one forget the master?
How can something be so strong
That without it the world be a disaster?
