My Life
When the green flag drops,
My heart practically stops.
The only sound I hear
Is my sled switching gears.
I see a window where I can pass
I hope I don't come in last!
My head starts to beat like a drum
With the throttle on my thumb.
Mealy Snow,
Makes it hard to go,
My body feels light,
About to take flight.
As I hit a double,
I hope I don't fumble.
I begin to fear
That my competition is getting near.
I better go fast
Before I get passed.
The feeling of joy
As the checkered flag is deployed.
