Ode to college rule paper
Ode to college rule paper
Oh, college rule paper
How you’re blue lines
Stand absolutely still
Awaiting my attention.
You are my trusty
Ol’ pal
Our friendship growing the more I write.
When I stare at you,
Seeing the blank expression across your face
I smile,
You are so silent now
But when it comes down to pen meeting paper
You will end up being filled with words,
Becoming such a chatter box.
I may even go past the margin line!
Yes, yes, I know it’s against the rules
But for you I don’t care
Because I can empty my thoughts
Onto you with my small cramped handwriting
That will fit snuggly in your 1 centimeter lines.
I don’t much care for your brother
Wide rule.
He’s always making me feel alone,
Wasting so much space.
When I get a notebook, filled with 70 or more pages of you,
My heart quickens,
My mind races,
As I think of all the amazing adventures
I can write onto you
For the two of us, to share.
